Even Gods of War can become suicidal. Kratos confronts suicidality multiple times in the franchise. On one occasion he actually completes his plan by jumping from a cliff only to be rescued, and on another he turns himself around at the last moment. He describes his distress as being forced to relive the traumatic memories of his past within nightmares, with extreme resentment towards those who he believes used him to their own ends. This is likely to represent a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Kratos: The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me, now there is no hope!
Narrator: And Kratos cast himself from the highest mountain in all of Greece. After ten years of suffering, ten years of endless nightmares, it would finally come to an end, death, would be his escape from madness.
