Invite CheckPoint to your convention.
We’re proud and privileged to bring to ‘The CheckPoint’: wellbeing spaces to conventions internationally. From games cons to anime events, catering to conferences and conventions alike, this initiative represents an important place of respite for any attendee.
The objectives of the room are:
- Provide a relaxed, welcoming and supportive safe space for convention attendees.
- Connect attendees with a hands-on interactive experience of health and wellbeing tech, apps and games.
- Support attendees by listening and providing them with take-home resources.
I had a lot of parents who got stressed out that day say that the room was a wonderful idea.
I really liked meeting new people, and just chatting to them about the event. Being in the room certainly did help me relax, and I came out of my shift feeling happier.
Just the general appreciation of everyone using the room – every thanks from those leaving who said the room really made a difference to them was really rewarding.
It was good being left to our own devices (great for those of us with social anxiety)
The quiet setting was a great retreat from all of the hectic buzz of the con. I also appreciated that the volunteers were respectful of others’ wishes of being left to their own company, or they were equally as happy to engage in conversation when appropriate.
When a father and his daughter came up and asked if there was somewhere they could sit as they were both on the autistic spectrum and needed a break, I really felt like the room was helping someone.
